Suvin Gold | Discover The Magic of India
An extremely rare cotton …
Cotton is divided into four fibre (staple) lengths: short, medium, long and extra long. A short fibre cotton garment will have a rough hand feel while an extra long staple (ELS) cotton fabric will always give exceptional smoothness and wearing comfort. Niccolò P. uses only ELS varieties in its polo shirts such as Egyptian Mako, Supima, Sea Island and, of course, Suvin Gold. Grown in the central plateau of Tamil Nadu, South India, Suvin Gold is processed in a similar manner to Sea Island: hand picking is favoured to ensure longer fibres compared with machine picking. Suvin fibre contains a high amount of fat which gives it a unique lustre.
